Big internet companies like Facebook or Google have effectively hijacked the privacy
discourse in the recent years. Their marketers managed to convince the public that the most
important things about privacy are superficial tools that allow hiding your public posts or your
profile pictures from the people around you. Adding these superficial tools enables companies to
calm down the public and change nothing in how they are turning over private data to marketers
and other third parties.
At PostChat we think that the two most important components of Internet privacy should be
instead:
You can chat to people who are in your phone contacts and have PostChat. Another way of contacting people is to type their PostChat username into the search field.
Your contacts, who have PostChat, are shown at the top of your Contacts. They also have pictures.
Sending them a download link via any other messaging service: email, Facebook, WhatsApp, PostChat, and other messaging app.
Yes! Voice chat are currently available to users around the world.

PostChat groups can have up to 5,000 members each and are extremely powerful communication tools. Here are a few key features that make them stand out in the messaging world:
PostChat chat lets you talk to your friends and family, even if they're in another
country. Just like your messages, PostChat calls are end-to-end encrypted so PostChat and third
parties can't listen to them. You also have the right to block user and never receive each
other's information.
PostChat chat are ideal for sharing stuff with friends, family, collaboration in small teams or
a very large community. Groups can have up to 5,000 members and have a unified history, so
deleted messages will always disappear for everyone. Moreover, only admins can delete other
member's message. You can also pin important messages to the top of the screen so that all
members can see them, including those who have just joined. But only admins can edit the group
name, group photo, and group notice. All the member can view the group member position or leave
group by clicking the Group Member Button. Only admins can change other position or remove
member.
Post chat are a tool for broadcasting messages to large clients. In fact, a post can have up to
10,000 members and managed by the officer and administrator. Administrator or officer post in a
post chat, all the member inside the post chat will receive the message. When member give
reply, all the administrator and the officer will automatically create sub chat for each member.
Members do not know who is chatting in the post because members can't see other members'
comments and membership lists. Only admins have the right to change other's position or remove
them. If change you to other diference position, the record of your current position will be
permanently cleared.
In group, only administrators can add new people and change the name, notice and photo of
the group. Admins also have the power to remove other members from the group. Only admins able
to change other's position.
You can add by your contacts, or using search by username. Make sure that person are inside your
contact and have an active account for PostChat.
It is easy to add a new member to group by sending people an invite link. To create an invite
link, go to Invite Member — Copy Link — Invite to Group via Link.
Anyone who has PostChat installed will be able to join your group by following this link or
added to group by admin. If you choose to revoke the link, it will stop working immediately.
You can set up a username on PostChat. In the chat list, chat will only use the contact name to
name it. If your phone number is not in them's contact list, your user name will be used instead
of your contact name.
It then becomes possible for other users to find you if you are on their contact list. Please
note that people who find you by your phone number will be able to send you messages, even if
they don't know your user name.
You can set up or change your user name in Profile and use the search bar in the main page of
the chats to search for chats names and user names.
You can use a-z, emoji, 0-9 and underscores. Usernames are case-insensitive, but PostChat will store your capitalization preferences (e.g. POSTCHAT and PostChat is the same user). The username must be at least 3 characters long.
Yes, you can set it. When someone is not in your contact, they will replace their name with their username.
PostChat is more secure than mass market messengers like WhatsApp and Line. We are based on the MTProto protocol (see description and advanced FAQ), built upon time-tested algorithms to make security compatible with high-speed delivery and reliability on weak connections. We are continuously working with the community to improve the security of our protocol and clients.
We've got you covered. PostChat’s special secret chats use end-to-end encryption, leave no trace on our servers, support self-destructing messages and don’t allow forwarding. On top of this, secret chats are not part of the PostChat cloud and can only be accessed on their devices of origin.
PostChat is open, anyone can check our source code, protocol and API, see how everything
works and make an informed decision. In fact, we welcome security experts to audit our system
and will appreciate any feedback (security@PostChat.org). We offer bounties for successfully
identified vulnerabilities.
On top of that, PostChat's primary focus is not to bring a profit, so commercial interests will
never interfere with our mission.
PostChat can help when it comes to data transfer and secure communication. This means
that all data (including media and files) that you send and receive via PostChat cannot be
deciphered when intercepted by your ISP, network administrator or other third parties.
But please remember that we cannot protect you from your own mother if she takes your unlocked
phone without a passcode. Or from your IT-department if they access your computer at work. Or
from any other people that get physical or root access to your phones or computers running
PostChat.
If you have reasons to worry about your personal security, we strongly recommend using only
Secret Chats in official or at least verifiable open-source apps for sensitive information,
preferably with a self-destruct timer. We also recommend enabling 2-Step Verification and
setting up a strong passcode to lock your app, you will find both options in Settings — Privacy
and Security.
Logging in with an SMS code is an industry standard in messaging, but if you're looking
for more security or have reasons to doubt your mobile carrier or government, we recommend
protecting your cloud chats with an additional password.
You can do this in Settings – Privacy and Security – 2-Step Verification. Once enabled, you will
need both an SMS code and a password to log in. You can also set up a recovery email address
that will help regain access, should you forget your password. If you do so, please remember
that it's important that the recovery email account is also protected with a strong password and
2-Step Verification when possible.
Check this out for tips on creating a strong password that is easy to remember.
Hidden chat is only unilaterally hidden. You only hide this chat on your side of the
conversation, your friend's devices will not be affected.
This has a restriction on hidden passwords. You can use a-z or 0-9 as the password. Up to 12
characters can be used.
You able to hide chat by few easy steps. To create a hidden chat, go to the chat you want to
hide — tap Option icon — go to Private Info — then start setting up the hidden code.
Hidden chats are meant for people who want more secrecy than the average fella. All messages in
hidden chats use end-to-end encryption. This means only you and the recipient can read those
messages, nobody else can decipher them, including us here at PostChat. On top of this, Messages
can be forwarded from hidden chats. All hidden chats in PostChat are device-specific and are not
part of the PostChat cloud. This means you can only access messages in a hidden chat from their
device of origin. They are safe for as long as your device is safe in your pocket.
To reset your password, just change the password on your hidden code.
To remove this feature, simply clear all the passwords and leave it blank.
Remember, that you can use PostChat on as many devices at the same time, as you like. If
you log out, you don't lose your cloud messages. However, you will lose all your messages inside
them when you log out.
iOS: Go to Settings — Edit — Log out.
Android: Go to Settings — … (in the top right corner) — Log out.
PostChat Desktop: Go to Settings — Log out.
You can change your number in PostChat and keep everything, including all your contacts, messages, and media from the PostChat cloud.
First of all, sorry about your phone. Unfortunately, the phone number is the only way for us to identify a PostChat user at the moment. We don‘t collect additional information about you, so whoever has the number, has the account. This means we can’t help you unless you have access either to the phone number or to PostChat itself on any of your devices.
After you try to delete a friend in chat list, you still can chat with them if u want
to.You can search back with their name or phone number .
If you want to delete the contact completely, make sure you also delete them from your phone
contacts and you will not able to chat with them anymore.
The most common reason why you can't send or receive PostChat messages is a bad Internet
connection.
If you're sure your phone is connected to the Internet, there are a few reasons why PostChat
messages aren't going through:
A photo may appear blurry if PostChat can no longer find it on your device or SD card.
This usually happens if the photo is deleted from your device or SD card.
Once a photo is downloaded on to your device, it cannot be re-downloaded, so you would have to
ask your contact to send it to you again.
Photos are saved much more reliably on an SD card. In the future, we recommend that you insert
an SD card to your device, if possible.
If the timestamp displayed on your received messages or the last seen time of your
friends are incorrect, please check the time and time zone configuration on your phone. You
might need to re-adjust them.
We recommend setting your date and time to Automatic or Network Provided. With this setting
enabled, your mobile provider will set your phone to the correct time. If the incorrect time is
displayed even with this setting enabled, then there might be an issue with your network. Please
contact your mobile provider to address the issue. As a workaround, please modify your date and
time settings and correct your time zone manually.
Note: The time zone is different than the actual time. Make sure you select the correct time
zone for your location.
To configure your time zone manually, please follow these steps for your phone:
